What is the difference between the Jobs class and Career Awareness?
The Jobs class is part of grant called Transition Partnership Program that works in partnership with Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) to help students learn pre-employment skills. The purpose of this partnership is to successfully transition students into meaningful employment and/or secondary education. The students will have access to job exploration through guest speakers, tours, and job shadowing trips (CBJE).Our Community Assistant/Job Developer will follow the students until they are successfully in a job for 90 days.
Career Awareness is a class designed to help students learn pre-employment skills, communication skills, transferable basic academic skills, and employment skills. Like the Jobs class, the students will have access to job exploration through guest speakers & tours, but not job shadowing trips.
